Veho celebrated it’s launch in style at the prestigious Pennyhill Park on 22nd January with some of our best clients, drivers and associates in attendance. We were absolutely delighted that so many came to support us.
We announced a lot of exciting news on the evening, served some wonderful canapés and enjoyed the flawless bar service of the team at Pennyhill.
Firstly, we announced our Official Charity for 2014, Medical Detection Dogs. This is a wonderful charity offering help and support to children and adults with life changing diseases. They are also aiding in the search to find a fast and non-invasive way to diagnose cancers. We are excited to support them over the course of the year and hope to be able to raise enough money to help towards training a new puppy. With over 40 people on the waiting list and a waiting time of around 3 years, we want to start raising money soon.
To support them, we have decided to take part in a charity challenge and hope to raise £5000 for them by the end of 2014. Trekfest – The Peaks is a 27 mile, 12 hour hike through the stunning (but very hilly) Peak District starting and ending in the beautiful Hope Valley. We have a Veho team entered and would love for more of our drivers, clients and friends to join us (if you are up for the challenge!) Entries are closing soon, so if you are interested in joining us, please email emma@veho-solutions.co.uk. We raised over £750 in sponsorship on the night but we have a long way to go. If you can’t join us then please sponsor us through our Just Giving page.
We were also privileged that Paul Gibson, Editor of ‘The Chauffeur ‘website, was able to come to the event and gave us some great editorial on his site here. Veho will be working with Paul and his website further in the future as we develop our new training programmes.
Finally, we were able to officially announce that Veho has won the contract to operate the 2014 Ryder Cup Official Courtesy Car Service on behalf of BMW from 23rd to 28th September at Gleneagles in Scotland. The service will coordinate 150 volunteer drivers and 15 front of house staff and promises to be an exciting few weeks for all of us.
We look forward to a busy and successful 2014. More blog posts will be featured soon with updates on recent events.
